China national Under 19 football team are participating in the 2018 Viareggio Cup between 12 and 28 March.

 

This is the fourth presence of a team from People's Republic of China in the famous world youth football tournament. Beijing were the very first Chinese club to play outside the national borders in 1978, when they were welcomed in Viareggio by then-UEFA chairman and FIFA vice-president Artemio Franchi. A team from the Hebei province participated one year later and the Chinese Football Association was subsequently re-admitted by FIFA among its members.

 

Guangdong were the last Chinese to partake in the Viareggio Cup in 2001.
