DI BIAGIO: «ITALIAN FOOTBALL DOESN'T NEED TO BE REFOUNDED»
Italy national team interim coach Luigi Di Biagio has been awarded the Premio Gaetano Scirea during the 2018 Viareggio Cup gala dinner.

he Viareggio Cup kickoff has been the chance to talk about the youth system in Italy: "I think that Italian football doesn't need to be entirely refounded, there's still something good which must be commended.
The Viareggio Cup allows many youngsters to confront themselves on a challenging stage, especially when they face opponents who play with a different intensity for the whole match. Regarding my job with the national team, we'll talk about it in a timely manner".
Di Biagio also recalled his experience in the Viareggio tournament. "I participated with Lazio at the end of the 1980s, but I unfortunately had to deal with injuries".
The Azzurri interim coach followed the opening game between Sassuolo and Club Brugge from the main stand of the Stadio dei Pini alongside former Italy international Alberigo Evani.
Many kids were on the hunt for his autograph and Di Biagio calmly, pleasantly signed lots of sheets of paper and balls.
