TWO MATCHES BEHIND CLOSED GATES AT VIAREGGIO CUP
The matches China U19-Perugia and Genoa-SPAL at Stadio dei Pini in Viareggio will be played behind closed gates, as decided by the local surveillance authority. The former is scheduled this afternoon, while the latter is scheduled tomorrow morning.
During an inspection at the venue, the surveillance authority of the local municipality has noticed that some areas of the stadium have not been properly checked with controls and interventions which were required in previous inspections.
Due to safety reasons, the venue will not be accessible pending further controls scheduled on Monday 19 March. "We sincerely apologise to all football fans", CGC Viareggio chairman Alessandro Palagi says. "Our all-sports club has experienced very tough trials throughout its 70 years, we hope to overcome this one, too".
